Changing face of BEd NEP 2020: A common National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) will be developed. The minimum degree qualification for teaching will be a 4-year integrated B.Ed. course by 2030 and stringent action will be taken against "substandard" stand-alone teacher education institutions, according to the new National Education Policy (NEP). The new NEP approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday has outlined several reforms for both school education and higher education. The policy has also laid down a road map for how the demands for training teachers in tune with the policy requirements will be met. പുതിയ ദേശീയ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയത്തിന് കേന്ദ്ര കാബിനെറ്റിന്റെ അംഗീകാരം മാനവവിഭവശേഷി വികസന മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ പേര് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രാലയമെന്ന് മാറ്റാമെന്നും തീരുമാനം ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: രാജ്യത്തെ സ്‌കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തില്‍ ഘടനാപരമായ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ ശുപാര്‍ശ ചെയ്യുന്ന പുതിയ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയം കേന്ദ്ര കാബിനെറ്റ് അംഗീകരിച്ചു. ഐ.എസ്.ആര്‍.ഒ മുന്‍ ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ഡോ. കസ്തൂരിരംഗന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള സമിതി തയ്യാറാക്കിയ പുതിയ ദേശീയ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയം 2019 മേയിലായിരുന്നു സര്‍ക്കാരിന് സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചത്‌. സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ വെബ്‌സൈറ്റില്‍ നേരത്തെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച കരട് നയത്തില്‍ പൊതുജനങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വിദഗ്ധരില്‍നിന്നും സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാരുകളില്‍നിന്നും നിര്‍ദേശങ്ങള്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ച ശേഷമാണ് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയത്തിന് അന്തിമ രൂപം നല്‍കിയത്. 1986-ലാണ് ഇതിനുമുന്‍പ് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയം നടപ്പാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇതില്‍ 1992-ലായിരുന്നു ഒടുവില്‍ മാറ്റംവരുത്തിയത്. മാനവവിഭവശേഷി വികസന മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ പേര് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രാലയമെന്ന് മാറ്റാമെന്നും കാബിനെറ്റ് അംഗീകരിച്ചു. സ്‌കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തില്‍ സമഗ്രമായ മാറ്റം വരുത്താനുള്ള നിര്‍ദേശങ്ങളടങ്...

Highlights of National Education Policy 2020 From 4 years B.Ed. degree to removing M.Phil The Union Cabinet approved the National Education Policy 2020 on Wednesday. Below are some of the key features of the new policy: * This is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four-year-old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986. * The new policy aims for universalisation of education from pre-school to secondary level with 100 per cent Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in school education by 2030 and aims to raise GER in higher education to 50 per cent by 2025. *To enroll for a Ph.D, a Master’s degree or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with Research shall be required.
